As an Administrative or Classified Staff, your knowledge and understanding of key legislation and web accessibility strategies will guide you as you strive to make Mason accessible for faculty, staff, students and public with disabilities. A good starting point is asking yourself – what role do I play? The diagram below illustrates the departments and levels where admin & classified staff as well as non-teaching faculty play important roles in ensuring equal access to students.
Other Questions to Consider:
- Is there an accessibility liaison in your dept?
- Have you included accessibility into your semester monthly meetings?
- Do you chair committees in which an ATI member could be invited?
- Do you purchase or oversee new technology being purchased?
